چکیده:
In recent decades, development of sustainability attitudes into various fields like education has given rise to sustainable designing of educational spaces with particular emphasize to environmental-educational devises and methods to reach the aims of sustainable development. Nevertheless, the issue of environmental education and new educational spaces like garden-schools has not received sufficient attention in the modern architecture of our schools while it is recognizable in traditional schools of Iran.The purpose of this research is to study the role of garden-schools in sustainable development and tries to explain the reasons of creating garden schools with regard to the documented researches and also to study the three dimensions of sustainability and their components in garden-schools.The results shows that, the three social, economic and ecological components of sustainability represents in the form of different elements in garden-schools which indicates the valuable role of these spaces in reaching sustainable development
